The future of agriculture begins with the stories we tell our children.

At Female Farm Tales, we believe stories have the power to shape the way children see the world.

For too long, the women of Australian agriculture have been underrepresented in children's books, despite playing an essential role in feeding and clothing our nation. At the same time, many children are growing up with little understanding of where their food and fibre come from.

We believe both can change.

Our mission is to share the stories of female leaders in Australian agriculture so children can better understand where their food and fibre come from, while inspiring the next generation to see the opportunities that exist on the land.

Every Female Farm Tales book celebrates a different woman in agriculture through warm, rhyming storytelling and beautiful Australian illustrations. Together, these stories introduce children to the people, animals and industries that help feed and clothe Australia every day.

But this is about more than books.

It's about helping children develop a deeper appreciation for Australian agriculture.

It's about celebrating the women who have always been part of our farming communities.

It's about creating stories where young girls can see themselves driving tractors, managing livestock, growing crops, caring for animals and leading the future of agriculture.

It's about reconnecting children with the people behind their food and fibre.

Because when children understand where their food comes from, they grow up with greater curiosity, gratitude and respect for the people who produce it.
