About The Author

Hi, I'm Ange, the founder and author behind Female Farm Tales.

I'm a mum of two, a business owner, and someone whose love for Australian agriculture has shaped both my career and my life.

Growing up in Far North Queensland, I developed a love for animals and life on the land from an early age. That passion led me to complete qualifications in Beef Production, Animal Studies, Horse Breeding and Veterinary Nursing before spending years working throughout the Australian beef industry.

Along the way, I worked on cattle stations, alongside incredible farming families, and with some of the hardest-working women I've ever met. Women who cared for livestock, raised families, managed businesses and helped produce the food and fibre we all rely on every day.

Yet when I became a mum and started searching for books about farming to read with my own children, I realised something was missing.

I could find books about farms.

I could find books about animals.

But I struggled to find stories that celebrated the women who have always helped shape Australian agriculture.

So I decided to write them.

Female Farm Tales was created to help children understand where their food and fibre come from while celebrating the incredible women behind Australian agriculture.

Every story is inspired by real farming careers, thoughtfully researched, and written in warm, rhythmic rhyme that children love to hear again and again. My hope is that these books spark curiosity, start meaningful conversations, and help bridge the gap between the paddock and the people who enjoy everything Australian farmers produce.

Whether your family lives on the land or in the heart of the city, I believe every child deserves to know the journey behind their food, appreciate the people who produce it, and see that agriculture is full of opportunity.

Because the future of agriculture begins with the stories we tell our children.
